Pear Mostarda di Frutta is to ham what cranberry sauce is to turkey. This robust condiment rides the line between sweet and savory with a pop of boozy goodness thanks to the healthy splash of Spiced Pear Liqueur. Serve with soft rolls, Whiskey & Apricot Glazed Ham, cheddar, gin pickles, Spiced Pear Hot Toddies and Wheat Whiskey Sours for a festive and casual holiday hang.

Ingredients
- ½ cup dried apricots, chopped
- ¼ cup dried cherries
- 1 fresh pear, cored and chopped
- ½ cup sugar
- 2 TBSP dijon mustard (preferably the grainy style)
- 1 TBSP brown mustard seeds
- 2 bay leaves
- ½ cup New Deal Spiced Pear Liqueur
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
Method
- Combine all of the fruit, sugar, mustard, mustard seeds, bay leaves, Spiced Pear Liqueur, and 1 cup of water in a medium sauce pan set over medium heat. Allow to come to a soft boil then reduce to medium-low heat. Cook until the fruit has softened and the liquid has thickened (the texture should be jam-like), about 40-50 minutes.
- Allow to cool and serve with Whiskey & Apricot Glazed Ham, Gin Pickles, sliced sharp cheddar cheese, and other condiments of your liking.
