The egg white in this super sippable whiskey sour adds a beautiful foam and delicious texture!
- 2 oz New Deal Distiller’s Reserve Bourbon
- 1/2 oz lemon juice
- 1/2 oz simple syrup
- 1 egg white
- Angostura bitters or cherry for garnish
Combine all ingredients in a shaker tin without ice. Vigorously dry shake (no ice) for at least 30 seconds. Add ice to the tin and shake for an additional 15 seconds. Double strain into a coupe glass or an old fashioned glass over a large cube. Garnish your whiskey sour with a cherry or angostura bitters.
Tips for crafting egg white cocktails:
You can’t over shake your “dry” ingredients. When in doubt it’s better to keep on shaking to ensure a frothy top to your cocktail!
If you’d like to try your hand at cocktail art put your bitters into a container with a dropper top. Drop bitters in a row along the top of your cocktail then use a toothpick to extend the drops into hearts or lines.
