When New Deal began, we were one of the smallest licensed distilleries in America. There were only a handful of American craft distilleries even in existence, and we had to figure out a lot without a roadmap. We have grown over the years in many ways, but are proud to have always remained independently owned. This gives us the freedom to continually explore experimental methods, ingredients, and spirit styles.

Twenty-plus years in, we’re still making every bottle right here in Portland’s Central Eastside. Whether you seek classic cocktails, craft cocktails, culinary cocktails, fun cocktails, or just something to sip, New Deal has a spirit for every occasion. To us, the quality of the ingredients and where we source them matter. We use whole, local, and organic ingredients whenever possible and strive to keep money right here in our community by working with local farmers, mills, orchards, botanical vendors, coffee roasters, winemakers, and brewers.

We love experimenting with quality ingredients and collaborating with local craft producers, which is why you’ll find a unique selection of beer, wine, cider, and home cocktailing supplies in our Bottle Shop in the distillery. Explore our selection of hyper-local, high-quality mixers, bitters, cocktail syrups, and garnishes, as well as our line of small-batch craft spirits. We’re open daily from 12-6 pm and would love to have you visit our shop for easy weeknight wine and beer to go, gifts and special-occasion bottles, home bar and cocktail-making supplies, exploratory spirit tastings and flights, seasonal mini cocktails, chats, and high-fives.

In light of recent developments with the Covid-19 outbreak, we wanted to update you on our current status. Our Portland Bottle Shop at 900 SE Salmon is currently open to walk-in customers for bottle sales only on Wednesday–Sunday from noon–6pm. You can also order online for sanitary Curbside Pickup seven days a week! Unfortunately, we are not offering tastings, mini-cocktails, or distillery tours at this time. Be assured, we’re keeping our facility clean and sanitized for your safety, so stop by soon to stock-up on your favorite craft spirits. If you prefer, you can also find New Deal spirits at many fine liquor stores.
