We don’t mind the clouds rolling in with this drink in hand.
- 1 oz Distiller’s Reserve Rye Whiskey
- ½ oz Cascara Liqueur
- 1 oz New Deal Pear Brandy
- 1 bar spoon 2:1 Demerara syrup*
- 2 dashes orange bitters
- 1 lemon peel for garnish
Stir all ingredients with ice and strain into an old-fashioned glass over a large cube. Garnish with a lemon peel.
*Demerara syrup: combine 2 cups demerara sugar with 1 cup hot water and stir until dissolved. For added flavor, add the peel of one orange to the syrup and let sit overnight. Remove the peel from the syrup in the morning. This syrup will keep for one month.
