This blood orange vodka cocktail is a tasty way to take advantage of the winter citrus season.
- 2 oz Portland 90 Vodka
- 1 1/2 oz fresh-squeezed blood orange juice
- 3/4 oz lime juice
- 3/4 bay leaf simple syrup (easy recipe below, or use plain simple syrup)
- soda water
- 2 blood orange wheels for garnish
Shake vodka, blood orange juice, lime juice, and simple syrup with ice. Add soda water to the tin. Double strain into a collins glass filled with fresh ice. Slide a blood orange wheel down the side of the glass and place another wheel on top to garnish.
Bay Leaf Simple Syrup: Combine 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup boiling water. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Place two bay leaves in the syrup and let sit for 20 minutes. Removes bay leaves.
