A twist on a classic, the New York Sour gets a float of red wine that adds aromatics, complexity, and a pop of color.
- 2 oz Distiller’s Reserve Wheat Whiskey or Bourbon
- 3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
- 3/4 oz simple syrup
- 1/2 oz red wine
Shake whiskey, lemon, and simple syrup with ice. Strain into an old fashioned class filled with fresh ice. Float the red wine on top of the drink by slowing pouring over the back of a bar spoon.
