Bright and balanced with beautiful floral notes, this rose and cardamom whiskey sour is absolutely delicious.
- 1½ oz Distiller’s Reserve Rye
- ¾ oz rose cardamom syrup (recipe below or use Portland’s Syrups Rose Cordial)
- ¾ oz lemon juice, freshly squeezed
- 1 lemon twist for garish
Shake all ingredients with ice for 10-20 seconds. Strain into rocks glass over fresh ice and garnish with a lemon twist.
To make the rose cardamom syrup, stir together:
7 tsp. rose water
4.5 oz hot water
1+1/3 cup white sugar
1/8th tsp. powdered cardamom
Let it marinate overnight in the fridge before using or use a hand-held immersion blender to rapidly infuse the cardamom into the syrup if you need it immediately.
