Summer in Oregon means one thing above all: berries. It’s the season we wait for all year. So we decided to bottle it. Oregon Brambleberry Bourbon is our new small-batch flavored whiskey, and it makes the very best spiked lemonade.
This recipe requires a one-gallon, shakeable container. Some one-gallon containers, widely available from various retailers, are here, or here, here, or here.
- 13 cups (104 oz) lemonade, your favorite brand will do as long as it already contains sugar
- Feel free to get creative here! Try using half lemonade and half strawberry, raspberry, or blueberry lemonade. Or, to really up the fruity deliciousness, use half lemonade and half Simply Peach or Simply Strawberry.
- 3 cups Oregon Brambleberry Bourbon
- Ice
- Lemon wheels, fresh berries, and/or mint leaves, for garnish
Combine lemonade and bourbon in a 1-gallon jug. Seal the jug and carefully swirl to mix the ingredients. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours if ingredients were already chilled; refrigerate for 6 hours if ingredients were at room temp.
When ready to serve, remove container from fridge and shake gently. Add ice to a glass of your choosing, fill with Brambleberry Lemonade mix and garnish with a lemon peel, berries, and/or mint leaves.
