You’ve likely heard of the Brandy-based Wisconsin Old Fashioned, but have you tried Wisconsin’s year round party drink? The Brandy Slush is a super easy, big batch cocktail that’s perfect for your next gathering. The ice cold slush of citrus, iced tea, and brandy gets topped with lemon-lime soda and is ideal for entertaining a crowd in both the summer heat and chilly holiday season.
- 2 cups Distiller’s Workshop Brandy
- 1 can (12 ounces) frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
- 1 can (12 ounces) frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
- 2 sachets Steven Smith Exceptional Iced Tea or 4 bags of black or green tea
- 9 cups water, divided
- lemon-lime soda (like Sprite or 7up)
- lime wedges for garnish
Bring 2 cups of water to a boil and pour over the tea sachets. Let steep for 5 minutes then remove the sachets and pour the tea into a large pitcher. Stir in the Brandy, lemonade concentrate, orange juice concentrate, and the remaining 7 cups of water. Transfer to 4 quart container with a lid and put in the freezer overnight. When ready to serve, scoop about 3/4 cup or so into a rocks glass. Top with lemon-lime soda and garnish with a lime wedge. The Brandy Slush can be stored in an air-tight freezer container for up to one month. We use a 4 quart cambro container but we hear the true Wisconsin way is to use a one gallon ice cream bucket. 🙂
