July 10th, 2009: New Deal Distillery Cocktail Tasting at The Maiden

New Deal cocktails will be featured at a special happy hour tasting at Eastside haunt, The Maiden, on Friday, July 10th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Owner and bartender, Jared Wilson, will be mixing up some of his memorable cocktails for you to enjoy. Come join us for a great way to start your weekend right!

July 11th, 2009: Pix Patisserie's 3rd Annual Bastille Day Celebration Block Party: Gastronomical Oregon

France. Just like how visions of sugar plums dance through your head at Christmas, when you think of France you can’t help but envision Camembert, warm crusty baguettes, Chateauneuf du Pape, foie gras, escargot, Cognac, dark chocolate…need I go on? These days, many of us are struggling to find the extra cash to go to a French restaurant, more or less France itself. So, Pix is keeping it local this Bastille Day featuring the gastronomical treasures of Portland!

This year Pix is supporting the Oregon Food Bank to help feed our local community. For every nonperishable food item donated guests will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win gift certificates to some of Portland’s best restaurants as well as culinary delights made right here in Oregon!

July 17th, 2009: Sojourn Theater Fundraiser

Sojourn Theatre is an eight year-old, multi-ethnic, ensemble-based company making new performance in Portland, Oregon and around the nation. With a commitment to both adventurous theatricality and community engagement, Sojourn creates unique, often site-specific investigations of stories and themes that consistently surprise, delight and provoke diverse audiences.

Help Sojourn Theater raise money for their ambitious On the Table project, set to debut next summer. On the Table is a cross-community site specific series of events that explore the question: If place builds identity and value, can a shared meal bridge more than physical distance? On highways and online, the full-day event/show will travel from rural to urban and back, as audience bbecomes chorus, performer becomes voyager, and a meal becomes participation.

July 27th, 2009: Oregon Bartenders Guild Benefit Cocktail Competition

The bartenders in the Oregon Bartenders Guild take their jobs very seriously, which is good for us because that means there is never a shortage of premium cocktails to enjoy when they get together. This time they're getting together at the Hobnob Grille for a benefit cocktail competition.
